Entrance visa to Armenia

Who needs a visa to travel to Armenia?

List of countries whose nationals are unilaterally exempted from the requirement of obtaining a visa.
List of countries, with which Armenia has a visa-free regime according to bilateral and multilateral agreements.

Holders of all other national passports and travel documents, including UN Laissez-Passer, are required to obtain an entry visa.

In all other cases the visa regime for the citizens of Armenia with foreign states is regulated by the internal law of those countries and might be changed in accordance with them. Therefore, the MFA of the Republic of Armenia recommends to check on the latest information on visa requirements from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from the diplomatic missions of the destination country before the trip.

Getting to Armenia

Armenia is a land-locked country in the crossroad of Europe & Asia. Although it has closed borders with two of its four neighbors, getting to Armenia is not so difficult; you will be able to fit in your budget & comfort requirements by picking up one or a combination of the below options.

By plane:

Armenia has one of the best & modern international airports in the region, Zvartnots International airport which is connected to over 50 European, Asian & African cities.

Zvartnots airport is located 12 km away from the capital city Yerevan, easily accessible all day long. The airport has a transit zone, providing services to transit and transfer passengers, including permission for visiting the city.

The airport handles any type of modern commercial aircraft, with 15,000 international flights annually.

Armenia also receives passengers at "Shirak” airport, granted by the status of ICAO First Class Airport.

Public transportation

There are still some global issues with public transportation in Armenia; however, individual drivers come to solve these problems, suggesting an easy and not so expensive drive from the same public stations to your destination. You can even share a taxi with other passangers, reducing your transportation cost.
Intercity transportation means move from two main stations: Northern Station and Kilikia Station.

Yerevan – Aparan
From Kilikia bus station till 20:00, every half an hour. Price -500 AMD.
Yerevan – Goris
From bus stop near Sasuntsi David railways station, 3-5 times a day. Price – 2500 AMD.
Yerevan – Kapan
From bus stop near Sasuntsi David railways station, 3-5 times a day. Price – 3500 AMD.
Yerevan – Gyumri
From bus stop near Sasuntsi David railways station, every half an hour. Price – 1500 AMD.
